Nearly 70 excited students from our 5th and 6th classes took part in a fantastic Maths Week event hosted by Dublin City University (DCU) this week.
The event was all about showing how maths can be fun and how it’s used in everyday life—not just in the classroom! Through interactive activities and engaging presentations, the children learned how maths is behind lots of small, everyday things we might not even think about, from patterns and puzzles to planning and problem-solving.
It was a brilliant experience for everyone involved. The children had a great time exploring maths in new and exciting ways, and it definitely helped show that maths is more than just numbers on a page—it’s a skill we use all the time.
